"Deciduous" means falling off or out at a certain season, compared to evergreen, which means that the leaves on a tree remain green throughout the year. Temperate Deciduous Forests are located in temperate zones above tropical forests and below coniferous forests. The most common trees found in this type of forest are broad leafed deciduous trees and few evergreen species. This includes ash, oak, lime, beech, birch, and northern arrowhead.
